Before you POD that memoir . . .

Remember that memoir you wrote about your quest for the perfect paperclip?

Okay, burn that one.

But if you have another memoir in you (or out of you), check out the Memoirists Collective. A radically cool bunch of . . . well, memoirists who will offer their insights into your 475,000 word story of your battle with toe fungus. And--this is a big and--if you win their contest, your memoir will be paraded in front of the authors' editors (from HarperCollins, Holt, and Hyperion.) How can you beat that? It's like a Needle Award specifically for memoirs.

Way cool, my friend.

And these are not hacks. Check out these fantastic books:

FALLING THROUGH THE EARTH by Danielle Trussoni
I AM NOT MYSELF THESE DAYS by Josh Kilmer-Purcell
QUEEN OF THE ODDBALLS by Hilary Carlip
THE YEAR OF YES by Maria Dahvana Headly

At a minimum, you should read these memoirs--and learn!
